post festival post

It’s a couple of days after the festival, and we’re all busy cleaning up from the big weekend; breaking down hundreds of tables and stacking thousands of chairs on pallets. The big tents are mostly down, and the trash is all bagged up. By tomorrow this time, our farm will be pretty much back to normal and you won’t hardly be able to tell that we had 5,000+ people here each day on Friday and Saturday.

Our Festival Team Breaking Down Chairs after this year's event.

Although it’s a busy day today, I wanted to try to share a short post festival post about how our big Homestead weekend went. I can sum it all up in one word…

A M A Z I N G !

I thought last year’s festival was something, but this year, it was absolutely incredible. Our team is all beyond thrilled with how it went, and I think everyone who came was too. I could try to tell you all about it, but since there’s so much I want to say, and I need more time to process it all… I thought it might make more sense to show you instead. So this morning I asked my nephew Mikel to put together a short video from all the film footage he and his team captured this weekend so you could see a quick peak at what the weekend was like…

I will share more in coming blogs, but for now, let me just say that… wisdom was shared, songs were sung, sheep were sheared, a timber-frame cabin was raised, pigs were butchered, animatronic chickens danced, corn was played in, hayrides were taken, food was eaten, axes were thrown, seeds were planted… and above all else, lives were changed forever.

Thank you God for the beautiful sunny weather, and the short rain-shower on Friday evening that cooled everything down for the concerts that followed. What a wonderful gift this weekend was, to all of us.

Be sure to put June 7 and 8, 2024 on your calendar so you can join us next year for our 3rd Annual Homestead Festival!

Our Early Bird tickets for the 2024 Homestead Festival are available now for just $99 on our website... TheHomesteadFestival.com. It's only been a few days and we are all so excited to begin planning to have lots of wonderful teachers, speakers and entertainers coming.
